XGMT 2027 is scheduled for January 17, 2027, from 2 PM to 4 PM.
Candidates preparing in two months need to cover four sections: Quantitative Aptitude (QA), Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning (VA & LR), Data Interpretation (DI), and Emotional Quotient and General Awareness (EQ & GA).
The two-month study plan should balance syllabus coverage, question practice, revision and mock tests.
XGMT has sectional time limits, and candidates cannot return to a section after completing it. Preparation must therefore focus on solving questions accurately within the allotted time.

XGMT 2 Months Study Plan 2027: Month-Wise Strategy
Divide the eight weeks into two stages. Use the first four weeks to cover the topics and build accuracy. Spend the next four weeks revising, solving timed question sets and taking mock tests.
Month 1: Cover the Syllabus and Strengthen Concepts
Check the XGMT preparation strategy for Month 1 shared below:
Week 1: Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability
Start with the fundamentals of QA and VA & LR. In Quantitative Aptitude, practise percentages, ratios, numbers, HCF, work and time, and inequalities.
Move to surds and indices, algebra, geometry, time, speed and distance, and logarithms as you become comfortable with the basics.
For VA & LR, begin with grammar, vocabulary, sentence correction, idioms and reading comprehension. Add syllogisms, analogies, statements and verbal reasoning to your practice.
At the end of the week, review incorrect answers and identify the topics that require another revision session.
Week 2: Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation
Focus on reasoning-based questions and data sets. Practise seating arrangements, blood relations, data arrangement, critical reasoning and parajumbles.
For DI, work on bar graphs, line graphs, tables, pie charts and caselets. Include data sufficiency, coding-decoding, directions, clocks, calendars, cubes and cuboids, input-output, alphanumeric series, analogies, and cause-and-effect questions in your practice.
Pay attention to how you interpret the information before attempting calculations or selecting an answer.
Week 3: Emotional Quotient and General Awareness
Cover current affairs, static GK, awards, famous personalities, government and politics, business, and economic topics. Also practise situational questions related to personality traits and reactions to success and failure.
Keep this section in your daily routine instead of leaving it until the final weeks. Review the information you have studied and test your recall through questions.
Continue solving a few questions from QA, VA & LR and DI to keep the earlier topics fresh.
Week 4: Complete Pending Topics and Revise
Use the fourth week to finish topics left from the first three weeks. Revisit difficult concepts and solve mixed question sets from all four sections.
At this stage, start practising with time limits. Check which questions take too long and which mistakes occur repeatedly. This review will help you decide how to use the remaining month.
Month 2: Revision, Mock Tests and Time Management
Check which areas you must focus on during the XGMT preparation.
Week 5: Revise All Four Sections
Revisit the concepts covered during the first month. Practise questions from your weaker areas and review mistakes from previous sessions.
For QA, focus on solving calculations correctly. For VA & LR, work on understanding questions and evaluating answer choices. For DI, practise reading data carefully and choosing the right approach. Continue revising EQ & GA to improve recall.
Begin taking timed sectional tests to assess your performance under time pressure.
Week 6: Increase Timed Practice
Use this week to improve speed without losing accuracy. Solve questions in fixed time slots and review your performance after each session.
Pay attention to the time spent on individual questions. If a question takes too long, identify why and practise similar questions. Do not measure progress only by the number of questions attempted; check how many you answer correctly.
Week 7: Take Full-Length Mock Tests
Start attempting full-length mock tests under conditions similar to the actual examination. Follow the 120-minute duration and practise completing sections within their allotted time.
- After each mock test, review your answers and note:
- Topics where you made repeated mistakes
- Questions that consumed too much time
- Sections in which your accuracy needs improvement
- Questions you attempted despite being unsure of the answer
- Use the results to plan your revision.
Week 8: Final Revision and Exam Practice
Use the last week to revise important concepts, revisit difficult questions and practise within the examination time limit. Avoid spending all your time on new topics while neglecting areas already covered.
Attempt timed practice to prepare for the sectional restrictions. Since XGMT sections appear in a random sequence and completed sections cannot be reopened, practise adapting to different section orders.
Keep revising EQ & GA alongside the other three sections. In the final days, focus on accuracy, familiar question types and effective use of the available time.
Daily Routine for XGMT Preparation
A daily routine should cover concept revision, question-solving practice and error analysis. Adjust the time assigned to each section according to your progress.
- Concept study: Work on a specific topic from QA, VA & LR or DI.
- Question practice: Solve questions based on the topic studied, initially without rushing and then under a time limit.
- EQ & GA revision: Review current affairs, static GK and the other listed topics regularly.
- Error review: Check incorrect answers and identify the reason behind each mistake.
- Timed practice: Increase the use of sectional tests and full-length mock tests as the exam approaches.
XGMT 2027 Exam Pattern: What Your Study Plan Must Account For
XGMT 2027 will be a computer-based test conducted in English. It will have four sections with multiple-choice questions and a total duration of 120 minutes.
The marking scheme awards three marks for each correct answer, deducts one mark for each incorrect answer and gives zero marks for an unattempted question.
Two exam rules should guide your practice:
- Sectional time limits: You must finish each section within its allotted time.
- No return to completed sections: Once a section ends, you cannot go back to change or attempt its questions.
Practising under these conditions can help you manage the test without depending on extra time from another section.
The negative marking rule also makes it important to consider accuracy when choosing which questions to attempt.
