The Target CAT Percentile Calculator is a free tool that evaluates multiple parts of a candidate’s profile to determine the CAT percentile target required for interview calls from top B-Schools.
The free tool considers details such as category, Class 10 and 12 marks, graduation, work experience, professional qualifications, and extracurricular profile.
It also asks for specific academic and institute-related information, including whether the candidate studied at an IIT/NIT, an Institute of National Importance, an IoE/CFTI or a particular graduation stream.

Personal Details Required
The first section asks candidates to select their category, PwD status and gender. The available category options are General, EWS, NC-OBC, SC and ST.
Candidates can select either No or Yes for PwD status and choose Male, Female or Transgender under gender.
Class 10 Details
Candidates need to enter their Class 10 board and percentage.
The calculator includes boards such as CBSE, ICSE, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, West Bengal, Rajasthan, IGCSE/IB, Bihar and other boards.
For CBSE CGPA holders, the tool specifies the conversion as CGPA × 9.5.
Class 12 Details
For Class 12, candidates need to provide their board, stream and percentage. The available streams are Science, Commerce and Arts/Humanities.
The calculator also asks for Class 12 Board Mathematics/Business Mathematics marks out of 100. Candidates for whom this is not applicable can enter 0.
Graduation Details
The graduation section captures several factors that can influence a candidate’s profile. Candidates need to select their graduation stream and enter their graduation percentage. The available graduation categories include:

Candidates also need to provide their graduation CGPA, if applicable, and the NIRF rank of their UG institute in the Overall category.
The calculator instructs candidates to use 100 if their institute is not ranked. For students from DU, use the college rank.
The tool also asks whether the candidate’s UG institute is an IIT/NIT, an IoE/CFTI/Institute of National Importance, or falls into specified Agriculture/Bio-Sciences or BCom(Hons)/Eco(Hons) groups.
Academic Category for IIM C Conversion
Candidates also need to select the academic category applicable for IIM C conversion.
The options range from AC1P1 for MBBS/MD to AC5 for Humanities, Law, Fashion, Arts, Music, Journalism and Psychology.
Post Graduation Details
Candidates who have completed post-graduation need to provide their PG marks.
The tool separately asks whether the candidate has completed a 2-year MTech, ME, MS or MPharma programme. Candidates who have not completed post-graduation can select No and enter 0 where applicable.
Professional Qualification Details
The calculator also considers professional qualifications. Candidates can select from:
- None
- CA/CMA/CS
- CFA/FRM/PRM
- Both
The tool asks for the level completed. For CA/CMA/CS, the options are Foundation, Intermediate and Final (Qualified).
For CFA/FRM/PRM, candidates can select Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3/Charter (Full). Professional qualification marks are also required, with 0 to be entered where the qualification is not applicable.
Work Experience Details
Work experience is entered in months and the calculator asks for two separate figures:
- Work experience as of July 31, 2026
- Work experience as of January 31, 2027
The tool specifies that only full-time experience should be counted. Both dates are included because different institutes use different work-experience cut-off dates.
Extracurricular Rating and CAT Attempt
