MICA Ahmedabad has released the MICAT 2027 notification for admission to its 2027-28 academic session.
The MICAT 2027 exam will be conducted in two phases, giving candidates two opportunities to appear for the entrance test. MICAT I will be conducted on December 5, 2026, while MICAT II is scheduled for February 12, 2027.
Candidates can appear for one or both phases, with MICA considering the better MICAT score where applicable.
MICA has also broadened its programme offerings for the 2027 admission cycle.
The programmes listed on the official admission page include PGDM-C, PGDM, PGCM-SM, FPM, PGCM-AMC, PGCM-DMMC and the Certificate Programme in Strategic Communication (CSC).
While MICAT is mandatory across these programmes, the qualifying entrance exams and subsequent selection requirements vary by programme.

MICAT 2027 Exam Dates

The MICAT 2027 registration for Phase I has already started. Candidates who want to appear for MICAT II can apply from November 25, 2026.
MICA Programmes Covered Through MICAT 2027
MICA has listed seven programmes for the 2027 admission cycle. These include:
- PGDM-C: Two-year residential programme with 180 seats.
- PGDM: Two-year residential programme with 60 seats.
- PGCM-SM: One-year programme in Sports Management with 40 seats.
- FPM: Four-year, PhD-equivalent Fellow Programme in Management with eight seats.
- PGCM-AMC: One-year programme in Advertising and Marketing Communication with 60 seats.
- PGCM-DMMC: One-year programme in Digital Media and Marketing Communications with 40 seats.
- CSC: An 11-month Certificate Programme in Strategic Communication with 40 seats.
The eligibility and selection requirements are different across these programmes. For example, PGDM and PGDM-C applicants need a valid CAT, XAT or GMAT score in addition to MICAT, whereas MICAT is the primary entrance assessment for the PGCM programmes. FPM has additional research and interview requirements.
MICAT Exam Pattern 2027
The MICAT exam pattern tests candidates across psychometric assessment, descriptive ability and aptitude. The paper broadly consists of the following areas:
- Psychometric Test: Assesses personality and behavioural attributes.
- Descriptive Test: Tests candidates’ written expression and ability to present ideas.
- Aptitude Test: Covers:
- Verbal Ability
- Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation
- Divergent and Convergent Thinking
- General Awareness
Candidates should note that MICAT papers can differ according to the MICA school/programme they apply to.
MICA’s admission guidelines state that the MICAT for the School of Management and School of Applied Creativity is different.
MICAT 2027 Selection Process
The MICAT 2027 selection process depends on the programme selected by the candidate.
For PGDM-C and PGDM, candidates need a valid CAT, XAT or GMAT score along with MICAT. Shortlisted candidates then participate in the Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) before the final merit list.
For PGCM-SM, candidates need CAT/XAT/GMAT and MICAT, followed by a Personal Interview.
For PGCM-AMC, PGCM-DMMC and CSC, candidates need to appear for MICAT, followed by a Personal Interview and final merit list.
For FPM, the process includes MICAT, an online screening interview and subsequent FPM-specific stages, including the written test, individual presentation and personal interview.
MICAT 2027 Application Fee
Candidates can apply for multiple programmes, but the application rules differ between MICA’s schools.
MICA advises applicants to check the programme-specific eligibility and selection requirements before selecting their preferences.

MICAT Scholarships
MICA offers scholarships across several programmes for eligible students.
The official Admissions 2027 page lists scholarships as available for PGDM-C, PGDM, PGCM-SM, PGCM-AMC and PGCM-DMMC. Scholarship availability and eligibility can vary by programme.
The FPM programme is listed separately as having a full fee waiver and stipend, but no scholarship.
